The global leader in recreational marine electronics, Navico, has reached agreement to sell its manufacturing facility in Egersund, Norway to the Haaland Group, a major Norwegian manufacturer of precision metal products. The deal includes a long-term lease of the bulk of the premises, existing inventory and machinery and employment of Navico Egersund's manufacturing workforce in the Haaland organization, increasing Haaland Group's workforce by 74.
Haaland will take over 80% of the premises and the manufacturing infrastructure and will produce Navico's autopilot range and selected other products requiring specialist competence found in Egersund.
Jens-Thomas Pietralla, President and CEO for Navico Holding, confirmed the deal has been finalized, "we are pleased to enter into a strategic partnership with the Haaland Group and look forward to continued close cooperation between our two companies."
Ragnar Sandve, Managing director of Haaland Group says, "we are excited to take over the Egersund facility and its manufacturing employees. The Egersund factory adds valuable capacity and we anticipate a smooth transition to full-scale manufacturing as a result of our combined in-house competence in electronics assembly and sheet metal manufacturing."
The sale agreement has been signed between Navico Egersund AS and Haaland Elekronikk AS. The manufacturing agreement has been signed between Navico Holding As and Haaland Elekronikk AS.
